Last Thursday Rachel and the kids tried their hand at watercolour on canvas. I must say, the results turned out very well! This week will be our last R-tworx session before the Summer Club begins. I just can’t wait! Hope to see you all there.

Nothing makes a statement better than BRIGHT, BOLD colours. So last Thursday that is exactly what we did!
1.Using markers, paints and bingo dabbers our student create bright and bold backgrounds on cardstock and left them to dry.
2.While they were drying students then drew self portraits on separate paper and coloured them in bright and unusual colours.
3.We then cut out our portraits and glued them to our dry backgrounds with some striking results!

On May 2nd the Library R-tworx group practiced watercolour blending techniques. This class helped to teach the importance of painting the background first. We taught different brush strokes and water colouring techniques for background and foreground.
This Monday the CES school garden aka The Small Lot of H.O.P.E. Was well tended by our team of gardeners from the CFY Summer Club.
It was amazing to see this great group of kids run to the garden tools and start weeding and watering without being asked!
They enjoyed it so much that when we were done they wanted to take an impromptu trip to the greenhouse to see where their plants had started. Thanks to mrs. Thomas for letting us visit!
