Happy St. Patrick’s Day at the playroom! We did 2 fun crafts that we’re all about the green and snack was all about rainbows. We also learned a fun new song about a leprechaun. The sneaky leprechaun left us a surprise in the office and we had lots of fun watching the “magic”. (Baking soda paste made into rocks with coins hidden inside. We added them to vinegar to uncover the treasure. Fun idea found on Pinterest)

Craft
Paint a piece of paper with water and then use a dropper to drop coloured water onto the paper.
Activity
Pour milk onto a plate, add drops of food colouring and then add drops of dish soap to watch the colours mix. (Note: it said any kind of dish soap would work but I tried 2 different kinds and didn’t really get the results I had seen on Facebook. It might be trial and error with which kind works the best)
Spray bottles filled with coloured water. Kids seem to love spraying things!!
Our playroom theme this week was jungle. We made paper plate snakes, read a Diego book and learned a new jungle song.

Happy New Year everyone!
This week our theme was music so we made a couple of different noisy shakers. The first one, we just decorated 2 paper plates with stickers, some colouring and some ribbon. We added beans and stapled the paper plates shut.
The second one we made out of 2 clear, plastic cups. We added beads on the inside and stickers on the outside and then taped the cups shut.
After we made our “musical instruments”, we sang some of our favourite songs and shook them to the beat of the music. The kids loved getting a little noisy.
We had another really great week at playroom. Our theme for this week was sheep. We made cotton ball sheep on Tuesday and construction paper sheep on Wednesday.
We had so much fun making something special for our Mommies for Mother’s Day.
We painted small wooden boxes from Dollarama to make jewellery boxes and added some Hershey kisses as a special treat.
We also painted clay flower pots and planted a flower in it. The moms were all smiles when they received their gift from their little ones.
