R-tworx: Day of the Dead

This past week was Halloween and Day of the Dead.  So at R-tworx we explored Sugar Skulls made out of black paper and pastels.  At first I had the kids draw some designs on a template before moving to the black paper.  It was a great exercise in learning about the shape of the human skull… though a few kids were a little grossed out by the idea that there are no nose bones in the skull.  🙂

Happy Halloween

This week at playroom, we had our Halloween party. We read Halloween stories, played some fun games and got our faces painted. Thanks to Jenn for letting us wrap her up like a mummy and doing the fabulous face painting. Thanks also to Crystal for bringing the yummy cookies and sprinkled marshmallows. We had such a great time.
CFY would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween!

I took apart a skeleton and hid the pieces all over playroom. The kids had to find them and put the skeleton back together.

We used toilet paper to wrap the grown ups like a mummy. The kids really enjoyed that one.

Creepy Spiders!

This week our theme was spiders. We made spiders out of small pumpkins and lollipops in preparation for Halloween.
We had such a great week at playroom. It’s so nice to see some new faces with new ideas to bring to the table. Thanks to all the moms and kids for making it such a fun and fabulous week.
